Faith Formation Catechists, Co-Catechists, & Helpers
About

Catechists and assistant catechists help others deepen their knowledge of Jesus, grow in their love of Jesus, and faithfully follow Jesus in their daily lives. Helpers usually work outside the classroom in various capacities throughout the year.

Who

Any adult can become a catechist, assistant catechist. High school youth can be assistant catechists and helpers. Training is provided throughout the year.

Requirements

Prospective catechists and assistant catechists must be actively living their Catholic faith, eager to learn more about it, and willing to share it. In addition, anyone 15 years and older who works with children must go through the Safe Environment training and fingerprinting process mandated by the Diocese of Orlando.

Time Commitment

Varies depending on role. Catechists and assistants spend about 90 minutes in the classroom per week. In addition, they spend time in prayer and study to prepare for each session.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) Helpers
About

VBS Helpers are those interested in sharing the excitement of their faith in a Vacation Bible School setting. All materials and supplies are provided for the event.

Who

Middle and High School Youth as well as Adults.

Requirements

Works well with children, artistic, creative, any and all talents are welcome!

Fingerprinting(the Diocese of Orlando requires all those 15 years and older to be fingerprinted and complete a background check to ensure the safety of all).

Responsibilities

Assist with the development and growth of the children of the parish. No experience is necessary to fill these roles. Opportunities for involvement include group leader and assistant leader, drama team, and activity leader and assistant.

Time Commintment

Time commitment varies depending on involvement level.

Middle School Youth Ministry

The Middle School Youth Group meets twice a month. Opportunities for retreats and service projects are also available. If you want to grow deeper in your relationship with the Lord and connect to people your age who share the Catholic faith then this group is for you.

High School Youth Ministry

The High School Youth Group meets weekly on Sunday evenings. Opportunities for retreats, service projects, and mission trips are also available. If you want to grow deeper in your relationship with the Lord and connect to people your age that share the Catholic faith then this group is for you.
