Children’s Faith Formation

Please remember that we will have classes on December 3 and 4 THIS week. See you in class this week!

For more information, please contact Frances Stadler, our Director of Faith Formation and Family Life at fstadler@oviedocatholic.org.

Mass Offering Card

We are using these to reconnect our Faith Formation families to worship and engage more deeply in the Mass. Mass is worship, and worship has always involved sacrifice, in every culture and faith.  We offer the best of ourselves to God in worship at Mass.  Every Faith Formation Student preparing for a sacrament this year is required to complete a Mass Offering Card each week and submit them either at Mass or electronically if they are watching Mass online or if forget to turn in their card at Mass.  In-person students may also turn their cards into their catechists in class.

Attendance at Feed Your Faith Events is required as part of the Family-Based Curriculum.  All Feed Your Faith events include dinner for the whole family. Because of the added expense of providing a family dinner, the fees for Home-Base Faith Formation are slightly higher than the fees for In-Person Faith Formation Classes. Registration for Family-Based is pending approval.

Children’s Faith Formation: Catechist, Assistants, Substitutes & Helpers

Please consider becoming a catechist, or assistant and help our children on their faith journey.

“The catechist, then, is a Christian who is mindful of God, who is guided by the memory of God in his or her entire life and who is able to awaken that memory in the hearts of others.”- Pope Francis

Are you one of somebody’s “Five”? Are you open to making a difference in the life of a child? Studies show that while parents are the most important influence in a child’s life, every child needs 5 other adults in their lives to guide them along the way. There are many ways to do this – as a Catechist, an Assistant, a Substitute, or a Small Group Leader for our Faith Formation children.

Any adult can be a catechist, assistant catechist, or substitute. High school youth can be helpers in various capacities.   He or she must be actively living the Catholic Faith, eager to learn more about it, and willing to share it!

If you would like to discern a role in Catechesis, Co-Catechesis, or Assistant, please contact: Frances Stadler at (407) 365-3231 x 105 or fstadler@oviedocatholic.org
