Misa en honor al Divino Niño

Vamos a tener una Misa en honor de El Divino Niño el sabado, 20 de julio a las 9:15 AM en el Centro de Vida Parroquial. También, tendremos una colecta de comidas no perecederas el día de la Misa para beneficiar a HOPE Helps en Oviedo. Después de la Misa habrá un compartir. You are invited to our Traditional Mass in Spanish in honor of the Divino Niño on Saturday, July 20th at 9:15 AM in the Parish Life Center. Also, we will collect non-perishable food items on the day of the Mass on July 20^th. All food donations will go to assist the HOPE Helps food pantry. After Mass, there will be a community potluck. En preparación para la misa, participe en la Novena del Divino Niño que se llevará a cabo del 11 de julio al 19 de julio. Llame a la Oficina Parroquial al 407-365-3231 para obtener información sobre la hora y el lugar de la novena diaria.

In preparation for the Mass, we will pray the Novena to the Divino Niño beginning Tuesday, July 11th to Wednesday, July 19th. Please call the Parish Office at 407-365-3231 for information on the time and location of the daily novena.

This devotion began with the arrival of the Salesian and Italian Father Juan del Rizzo in Bogotá, Colombia in 1912. Two years later, in 1914, Father Juan del Rizzo arrived in Barranquilla where with great effort he dedicated himself to raising funds for the construction of a temple, although without great success. It was then that he felt that he should ask the Lord for this miracle on the merits of his childhood. From this plea, the success of the priest was resounding and extraordinary. This gave way to his great devotion to the Divine Child; he devoted the rest of his life to the propagation of this devotion.

In 1935, Fr. del Rizzo was changed or transferred to Bogotá where he providentially found a precious image of the Divine Child.

The father took the image of the Divine Child to the fields of the Salesian youth work in the “20 de julio” neighborhood. In this way, the faithful began to venerate the image of the Divine Child and there are many who until now say that by accepting this invocation they have obtained many miracles and conversions.

Fr. del Rizzo announced 4 conditions to obtain favors from the Divine Child

1. Offer Holy Mass for nine Sundays, go to confession, and receive Communion on at least one of them.

2. Give a pound of chocolate (or equivalent in money or food) to the poor.

3. If the person can, let him donate food, or its equivalent in money, to poor families.

4. Spread devotion to the Divine Child by narrating to others the miracles He performs to His devotees, distributing novenas, prints and almanacs.

The Divine Child generates tranquility, and sweetness and inspires serenity. Everyone who embraces it finds protection, security and peace. The Divine Child gives them full confidence that everything they ask for will always be granted to them “By the merits of Jesus’ childhood, nothing will be denied to you.”

Thanks to the fact that Fr. del Rizzo began a devotion to the childhood of Christ in the “20 de Julio” neighborhood of Bogotá, many Latin American countries such as Peru, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua welcomed this date to celebrate devotion to the Child Jesus.

Esta devoción comienza con la llegada del Padre salesiano e italiano Juan del Rizzo a Bogotá, Colombia en el año 1912. Dos años más tarde, en el 1914, el Padre Juan del Rizzo llegó a Barranquilla donde con gran esfuerzo se dedicó a recaudar fondos para la construcción de un templo, aunque sin mayor éxito. Fue entonces cuando sintió que debía pedirle este milagro al Señor por los méritos de su infancia. A partir de esta súplica, el éxito del sacerdote fue rotundo y extraordinario. Ello dio paso a su gran devoción al Divino Niño; dedicó el resto de su vida a la propagación de esta devoción.

En el 1935, el P. del Rizzo fue cambiado o transferido a Bogotá donde providencialmente se encontró con una preciosa imagen del Divino Niño.

El padre llevó la imagen del Divino Niño a los campos de la obra juvenil salesiana en el barrio “20 de julio”. De esta manera, los fieles empezaron a venerar la imagen del Divino Niño y son muchos los que hasta ahora dicen que al acogerse a esta advocación han obtenido muchos milagros y conversiones.

El P. del Rizzo dio a conocer 4 condiciones para obtener favores del Divino Niño

1°. Ofrecer la Santa Misa durante nueve domingos, confesarse y comulgar al menos en uno de ellos.

2°. Dar una libra de chocolate (o equivalente en dinero o en comida) a los pobres.

3°. Si la persona puede, que done víveres, o su equivalente en dinero, a las familias pobres.

4°. Propagar la devoción al Divino Niño narrando a otros los milagros que Él hace a sus devotos, repartiendo novenas, estampas y almanaques.

El Divino Niño genera tranquilidad, dulzura e inspira serenidad. Todo aquel que se acoja a él encuentra protección, seguridad y paz. El Divino Niño les da plena confianza en que todo lo que pidan siempre se lo concederá “Por los méritos de la infancia de Jesús, nada te será negado”.

Gracias a que el P. del Rizzo comenzó la devoción a la infancia de Cristo en el barrio “20 de Julio” de Bogotá, muchos países de Latinoamérica como Perú, Costa Rica y Nicaragua acogieron esta fecha para celebrar la devoción al Niño Jesús.
